How to Apply

To begin the application process, we encourage all students to apply online. Payment can be completed using PayPal or Check.

For the 2024 Summer Program, registration is open now! For those interested in a non-summer internship, academic applications are due at least 8 weeks before desired start date.

While we strive to place every student who applies and is accepted into our program, registration closes once we reach the number of available placements. Apply early!

Please note:  all spots for engineering, computer science, and finance have been filled for Summer 2024.

Your application MUST BE COMPLETED in FULL (including all required attachments and payment) to begin your placement process. Be advised that the online application system will not save information and allow you to complete the application later. To apply you MUST attach: 1) resume; 2) photo; 3) paragraph stating your interest to intern - Please submit attachments as Word documents.

Once we receive your completed application, the Internship Coordinator from The Education Cooperative will contact the student to set up a Google Meet screening interview.

Program Fees and Refund Policy

Summer Internships 60-hours:

  • $850 for students who attend school in TEC member districts*.
  • $950 for students who attend schools in Non-TEC member districts and all college students.

Academic Internships 60-hours:

  • $850 for students who attend schools in TEC member districts*.
  • $950 for students who attend schools in Non-TEC member districts and all college students.

Applications are due (at least) 8 weeks before the desired start date.

The application is not considered complete until we have received full payment and the student's placement process will not begin until the application is complete.

* TEC districts: Canton, Dedham, Dover-Sherborn, Framingham, Holliston, Hopkinton, Medfield, Medway, Millis, Natick, Needham, Norwood, Walpole, Wayland, Westwood.

The program fee covers:

  • Individual interviews, resume development
  • Placement coaching
  • Career assessment and reflective journaling
  • Supervision and evaluation
  • Career/college focus workshops
  • Administrative costs of internship development

We do our utmost to find a custom placement in one of the student's chosen fields. Students must interview with and be accepted by the TEC Coordinator and the Sponsor.

Termination of an agreed upon internship - Policy:

  • If a student decides not to participate in the internship prior to his/her start date, he/she must notify the Internship Coordinator via email at least 20 business days prior to the start date. The Internship Coordinator, not the intern, will notify the sponsor regarding non-participation changes.

Refund Policy:

  • With all Internship program applications, the fee includes a non-refundable $400 processing fee.
  • No refunds will be issued once the student has interviewed with the sponsor organization and has accepted her/his internship placement.
  • No refunds will be issued if the sponsor organization terminates the internship due to the student's behavior.
  • If a student changes his/her mind, decides not to participate in the internship and does not follow the ‘Termination of an agreed upon internship’ policy, no refunds will be issued.
  • No refunds will be issued once the student has started his/her internship; no reduction in fees will be made if a student leaves the program before completing the required hours.
