Welcome from the Executive Director

Together we create more possibilities and at TEC we actively seek to create opportunities for inter-district collaboration designed to stimulate innovative thinking, encourage the sharing of successes and challenges, and inspire the creation of new solutions to common problems.

For over 50 years TEC’s mission  has been to develop and coordinate innovative programs and services to support the needs of our member districts and their students in a way that complements and strengthens their local programs and expands opportunities in the most cost effective manner. Established in 1968 as a cooperative to leverage the purchasing power of local school districts, TEC was the first educational collaborative established in Massachusetts.

Today TEC offers a continuum of specialized education programs designed to meet the needs of students with a range of complex learning, physical, social-emotional and health care needs. We work in partnership with our member Special Education Directors and to ensure that our programs and services for students reflect the excellence found in their own districts. Our skillful, DESE licensed, highly qualified staff is equally dedicated to excellence and innovation in teaching and learning to promote engagement, achievement, accomplishment and success for every child.

TEC also develops original professional development and networking opportunities specifically designed to fulfill the ongoing needs and interests of classroom teachers, specialists and school and district leaders. Our college and career services connect students with internships and colleges and our Cooperative Purchasing Program saves districts hundreds of thousands of dollars each year.

We are grateful for the support and encouragement from the TEC Board of Directors and all of the dynamic educational leaders, educators, school committee members, students and families. Their countless contributions benefit our entire extended learning community and enhance the educational experience for over 50,000 students in our regional network!
