Internship Program Recruiting New Mentors for Summer

Mentors needed

Each year, TEC’s Internship & Career Exploration Program places nearly 100 students in 60-hour career-based internships. Our students come from local high schools in both TEC member and non-member districts with the hope of gaining real-world experience before heading off to college.

Last year’s summer internship numbers were so high (yay!) – that we are looking to expand our mentor base. If you or anyone you know would be interested in hosting an intern this summer at their business or organization, we encourage you to let us know! Our mentors are professionals dedicated to educating our next generation’s workforce, and we work with them in advance of hosting an intern to make sure it is a beneficial and worthwhile partnership for all parties involved.

The industries with the greatest levels of interest are: Business/Finance, Engineering, Computer Science/IT and Medical (PT, Vet, Nursing, Pharmacy, etc.), but we are open to any and everything as our students’ interest vary greatly.

If you know someone who would be willing to host a student (or students) this summer, please reach out to Emily Manz at emanz@tec-coop.org for more information on becoming a career mentor. We promise you won’t regret it!
