Course Description:

This course invites educators to explore how to elevate student learning by shifting the cognitive load from teacher to student.

Guided by Never Work Harder Than Your Students by Robyn Jackson, participants will examine what master teachers do differently to ensure all students are engaged and active in meaningful work every day.

Through discussion, reflection, and practical application, teachers will learn how to design lessons that promote independence, increase student ownership, and have the students do the heavy cognitive lifting. The course will connect these ideas to real classroom practice, using examples, collaborative planning, and opportunities to try out strategies that can be implemented immediately.

By the end of the course, participants will develop a clear plan they can implement, including concrete instructional moves that build both skill and will in their students. This course is ideal for educators looking to refine their practice, deepen student engagement, and create classrooms where students do the thinking and the learning.

Audience

K-12 Teachers, or New Admin, wanting to coach teachers
