TCS Satellite Program at Westwood High School
Located at Westwood High School, the satellite program provides students with a high school environment while concentrating on developing skills for independent living. Students, typically ages 14-18, strengthen their social skills and behaviors appropriate for the workplace and engage in daily opportunities to practice and apply new skills in authentic situations. Academic instruction is focused on functional vocabulary, writing and math skills for daily living, and classroom activities such as cooking and independent self-care. Students are provided supervised internships in vocational settings to apply and practice their skills in a workplace setting.
Transition Services
(Ages 18-21)
At TCS, we understand the pivotal transition from school to the community that young adults face. Our Transition Services program is tailored to students ages 18-21, providing them with the tools, support, and experiences they need to understand their unique capabilities. We guide them as they take an active role in defining their goals and preparing to accept the responsibilities of being an adult in the community. Through a diverse range of hands-on activities, students engage in practical experiences that directly translate into everyday life. From vocational skills to independent living, we equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive beyond school.
Our classrooms emphasize an Integrated Related Service Approach to maximize student learning across people, places, and situations. Whether it's vocational training, social and life skills development, or personal management, our dedicated team is here to guide and empower students every step of the way.
