We Made Recess a Reality!

Thanks to our amazing community, the Christopher Catanese Children's Playground - A Place for Everyone to Play was built from June 16-18, 2016!

Fencing and Poured in Place Rubber Surfacing was installed from June 20-26, 2016.

Our students got to play on their very own playground on July 5, 2016. And they loved it!

Mission Statement

The TEC playground seeks to provide a universally accessible place where children of all abilities can explore and discover the world together through play. Children with and without disabilities can play together on a colorful, exciting structure that inspires movement and exploration. The playground surface of poured rubber is smooth on wheels, gentle on falls, as well as highly durable.

Our playground provides a multi-sensory experience in a social, natural setting. A variety of swings and climbing structures foster gross motor development. Other elements of the playground nurture learning and imagination through creative play with sand, water and interactive musical instruments. Ramps and wheelchair accessible picnic tables ensure everyone is included in the fun.

The TEC playground is a centerpiece of our school and a place where children of diverse abilities and backgrounds are welcomed and encouraged to come together, share and play as a community.
