Anchors Aweigh!
We Need a Place for Everyone to Play!

We are pleased to announce the Anchors Aweigh event on September 17, 2015 was wildly successful. Four Points by Sheraton set the scene on September 17th as we launched the first community fundraiser for our playground, A Place for Everyone to Play. Local business owners and community members were welcomed by keynote speaker, Representative Paul McMurty, who spoke to the group about the importance of play in the world of every child. Officer Patrick Moriarty of the Walpole Police Union Local #115 presented TEC Executive Director Liz McGonagle with a donation for the playground. TEC staff member Jason Black created a very moving video that filled the room with hope. Many donations were made that evening, but the most notable was a $25,000 donation made by Peter Catanese II, chairperson of the Christopher Catanese Children’s Foundation (C.C.C.F.). Peter's son Christopher was just 21 years old when his life tragically ended in an accident. His family has ensured that his legacy will live on through the wonderful work of the Foundation named in his honor. We are pleased to announce that because of the C.C.C.F.’ s generous financial support, the TEC playground will be named The Christopher Catanese Playground-A Place for Everyone to Play. Along with monetary donations, we received some in-kind donations as well. Fowler Printing and Graphics provided Donor Catalogs, the Sign Center provided playground posters and a banner, and the Four Points by Sheraton donated some of the hors d'oeuvres that guests enjoyed.
